Making your home safer

Home Modifications for the elderly Accent Home Care

Improving daily life with home changes and support tools

Small changes at home, or some daily living aids, can make life easier. Your government-funded Home Care Package can help pay for these changes so you can stay safe, independent, and keep doing what you enjoy.

Why a safer home means more independence

As we age, things like getting in and out of the shower, working in the kitchen, or moving around can become tricky or unsafe.

Simple tools and home changes help you:

  • Stay safe

  • Stay in control

  • Stay in your own home for longer

Help through Home Care Packages

If you have a government-funded Home Care Package, you can use it to help pay for changes to your home to help you stay independent.

To help you access government funding for these helpful changes, we’ll arrange for an Occupational Therapist to visit you. They will listen to your needs, assess your home, and recommend the best changes to suit your situation.
